Beer Glasses: Not Just For Show
Take for example, beer glasses. They serve as drinking vessels that are usually specialty glasses for drinking beer. There are several types or styles of beer glasses because the glassware must complement the various kinds of beer. Also, having different designs, shapes, forms, sizes, and styles of the glasses will enhance the beer that will be drunk. Some examples would be enhancement of aroma, showcase of appearance, impression on the beer head, protection and prevention from the heat of the user's hands, etc., but no matter what reasons there may be, one thing that's very important why beer glasses vary in design is to increase appeal and attraction of the drinkers. Some examples of the beer glasses that are quite interesting because of the many uses and roles are the wheat beer glasses which are utilized to offer wheat beer and is very slim at the bottom and a bit flared at the top that provides a good space for the fluffy heads and traps the aroma; the pint glasses which are of three shapes namely: conical, jug, and wider top and are very good in serving stouts, porters, and English ales; pilsner glasses which are for light beers and are usually long, slim, and tapered; beer steins which are traditionally German and are normally with a hinged lid and levered thumb lift; flute glasses which are typically for Belgian lambics and fruit beers that display bubbly carbonation, sparkling color, and soft lacing; goblets or chalice are big, stemmed, and bow-shaped glasses; snifters which are used for offering brandy and cognac to capture the scent of aromatic beers; tulip glasses which create eyes and smell sensations that are good for Scottish ales, barley wines, Belgian ales, and aromatic beers; and other types of beer glasses. Beer glasses indeed are not just for the sake of having something beautiful to look at --- although it may be the first reason why the beer glasses are designed as such. However, beer glasses have other purposes as well, that's why they take the form of a variety of shapes, sizes, and styles. So, when you feel like enjoying through beer drinking, then make the most by not just drinking it through a can or bottle, but at least try to enjoy more the moment by pouring into a beer glass.
